6. Hair loss
Hair and skin are considered to be secondary functions of our body. Iron deficiency can lead to hair loss, especially as it progresses to anemia. When the hair follicles do not get enough oxygen, it goes into a resting state and does not grow back until the hair is shed and the anemia increases. It is normal to lose about 100 hairs a day. However, if you notice that your hair loss is heavy and will not grow back, this could be a sign of iron deficiency.
