9. Excessive periods for women
Excessive periods are the number one cause of iron deficiency in women. They lose too much blood, about half of which is replaced and severely lost again the following month. You should only fill your period with two or three tablespoons each month. You can try this tampon test to see if you have lost too much blood. If you need to change your tampons more often than every two hours, this is the time you should visit your gynecologist.
